About the Artist…

Alyssa Bibo, who also works under the online moniker Lem Lemourra (previously known as Lem0uro), is an emerging comics artist and illustrator based in San Antonio, Texas. Born in El Paso and of mixed white and Hispanic heritage, her cultural background and personal history shape the emotional depth and narrative focus of her work. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Art at the University of San Antonio, following earlier studies at El Paso Community College and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Working primarily in digital illustration, Alyssa creates comics using tools such as Clip Studio Paint and Paint Tool Sai. Her practice centers on autobiographical storytelling, expressive character-driven narratives, and the visual exploration of interior emotional experiences. Her current body of work delves into themes of mental health, self-doubt, trauma, and the complex process of coming of age. Through these narratives, she examines the tension between fear and ambition, highlighting the struggle to pursue creative dreams despite external invalidation and internal resistance.

Alyssa’s work aims to provide comfort, connection, and hope for audiences who share similar emotional challenges. She uses sequential art as a way to translate personal vulnerability into accessible, resonant stories that reflect both hardship and resilience.

Although early in her career, Alyssa has sold her artwork online and at artist conventions and continues to build a presence within independent comics communities. She is currently focused on developing original comics based on her life experiences and fictional characters, working toward her long-term goal of becoming a graphic novel author and illustrator.
